Pond Management
Here at Southern Illinois University, we pride ourselves as being a great fisheries university. As such, most students involved with the Fisheries and Illinois Aquaculture center have received much training in fisheries management. Thus, the student subsection of the American Fisheries Society provides guidance on pond/small impoundment management to the Southern Illinois public. We have a multitude of fisheries equipment that allows for determining the current status of these small water bodies. We would be glad to come out to any pond in the Southern Illinois area and provide management recommendations. We are a non-profit organization, thus, all pond management work will be completed free of charge. However, if pond owners deem compensation necessary, donations will be accepted. All donations will be used to allow students to attend professional fisheries meetings and maintain of fisheries equipment. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or would like for us to come out and investigate your pond. All individuals inquiring about this service please contact:
