Illinois Chapter of the

AMERICAN FISHERIES SOCIETY

Illinois is a great state in which to get a fisheries education.  Currently, graduate degrees with an emphasis in fisheries can be achieved at several universities, each with curricula and active research in fisheries and aquatic sciences.  We also provide continuing education courses for fisheries professionals in the state.  The most recent on freshwater mussel identification was a great success.

• The Chapter is dedicated to education in fisheries and aquaculture.  Programs in the state include:
